Lake Ray is the former two term member of the Jacksonville City Council who is currently running to replace State Representative Stan Jordan.  Ray served on the council from 1999 until June of last year. While on the council he served in the following capacities and received the following awards:   Chairman, Transportation, Environment and Energy Committee   Chairman, Jacksonville Waterways Commission   Chairman, Transportation Disadvantaged Coordinating Board   Council Liaison, Jacksonville Transportation Authority, Jacksonville Electric Authority & Sister Cities

  Chairman, First Coast Metropolitan Planning Organization

  “The Webb Award” recognizing the outstanding member of the Jacksonville City Council

  “The Intelligent Transportation Systems Champion” award

Lake is an eighth generation Floridian and the third generation to be raised in House District 17.  He was educated at Arlington Elementary, Ft. Caroline Junior High and Terry Parker High School.  He earned an Associates Degree from St. Johns River Jr. College and holds a degree in engineering from the University of Florida.  He is currently a professional engineer with Halcrow and has managed and designed hundreds of projects with some budgets in excess of $20 million.
